Day 3 - Monday...21st Century Learners...It's a GLOBAL discussion!

Today the ITiE Symposium began. So you ask, what is ITiE.... International Technology in Education. We were joined by experts, from all around the world, in the area of technology education. The mornings sessions focused on providing personalized learning for all students, the impact of technology in the classroom, using technology for professional devlelopment and "raising standards" and "closing the achievement gap". What I realized was... the issues that we disucss at our staff meetings and at state meetings are the same discussions that are going on all over the world!

In fact, our first presenter, Professions Sir Geoff Hampton of the Wolverhampton Universtiy in the UK focused on reforming schools with an emphasis on the 21st Century Learners! So Fessenden-Bowdon Staff....dig out the handouts I gave you, or go to my Fall Workshop SharePoint page and review them.... the discussions today just confirmed the fact that students (all over the world) have changed the way they learn, and we need to look at how we can transform into 21st Century teacher's to create 21st Century Classrooms! Exciting! But challenging! How can you transform you class to create decision makers, lifelong learners, students who adapt to change, and learners that think "globally"?
